Call for Artists!!

Who we are:  The Gateway Gallery and Gift Shop is a cooperative marketplace for area artists, located in new gallery space in the Hill High Orchard Building, just west of Round Hill on Route 7.   The gallery shares the renovated Hill High facility with the stylish Bogati Bodega, a wine and tapas tasting room, the Round Hill Arts Center, offering a wide array of classes and regular music jams, and the community favorite Hill High Country Store and pie shop. 

 What members do:  The gallery is staffed and managed by our members, who show and sell their work in the gallery, attend monthly membership meetings, gallery-sit at least three four-hour shifts each month, and serve on committees to manage day-to-day operations, set up displays and assure the quality of work on display, promote the gallery and plan special events and exhibits, and manage our revenues and expenses. 

 Membership costs:  Members pay monthly dues of $30 and contribute 20% of their monthly gallery sales toward expenses of the gallery.  New applicants will submit the first two months’ dues ($60) with their application (refunded if membership is declined) and a NON-REFUNDABLE $25.00 application review fee, which can be paid on-line.  If accepted, the artist will pay a one-time $100 membership fee.

How to apply:  Print and mail the application form on the website with two separate checks one for $60 for membership fees and a non-refundable payment of $25 for application review (or pay the $25 application fee on-line below).  to the address on the form. If we do not currently have a vacancy for the type of work you do, we will let you know, return your check, and keep your application on our waiting list.  When there is an appropriate vacancy we will contact all applicants in that type of work, issue a media-specific “Call for Artists” and make the selection at that time.

 As a glass artist - We are currently seeking glass artists who specialize in artistic functional or decorative glass.  Glass media include stained glass, fused, slumped and molded glass, blown glass, and sculptural lampwork.  To find out more click here.
